The Ashley Dale murder case has garnered public interest as Ashley was a Knowsley Council Environmental Health Officer who was killed in her backyard.

A 40-year-old man and a 28-year-old man from Huyton, Merseyside, were detained on Monday by detectives investigating the death of Ashley Dale, 28, who was found dead from a gunshot wound in the backyard of her home in Old Swan, Liverpool. They were being held on suspicion of murder and handgun possession with intent.

Officers were called to a residence in Leinster Road on August 21 at around 12.40 a.m. due to concerns for a woman’s safety. According to Merseyside Police, a 25-year-old man from St. Helens has been questioned at a police station on suspicion of helping a criminal.

All three men have already been taken into custody in relation to the investigation. In total, 15 people have been detained in connection with Dale’s passing.

Joseph Peers & James Witham Have Been Arrested In Connection With The Dale Murder Case

The primary suspects in the Ashley Dale murder case, Joseph Peers and James Witham are now accused of killing Ashley, who was found dead in her backyard. On August 21, just before 1:00 BST, Ashley Dale, 28, was found outside her home in Liverpool’s Old Swan neighborhood bleeding from a gunshot wound.

Later, she died in a hospital. James Witham, 40, of Ashbury Road in Huyton, and Joseph Peers, 28, of Woodlands Road in Roby, have each been charged with murder and knowingly possessing a firearm.

They are scheduled to appear in Wirral Adult Remand Court. Police say that a 25-year-old St. Helens man who was previously detained on suspicion of helping an offender is still being held.

It is not believed that Dale, an environmental health officer for Knowsley Council, was the shooting’s main target. Her death was one of three shooting deaths that occurred in Liverpool last year in a week.
